Overview:

The Dixie National Forest is hiring a Pavement Condition Surveyor/Engineering Technician; the office location is at 1789 North Wedgewood Lane in Cedar City and the starting hourly rate will be $14.30. The intern will be working for Dixie National Forest in Cedar City and Regional Office out of Ogden Utah. The intern will be helping to plan, organize, perform, and review a pavement surveys in the region.

Housing will not be provided.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Helping to plan, organize, perform, and review a pavement surveys in the region
  • Work with GIS to create maps, learn how to conduct a pavement surveys, and make reports with the data collected
  • Frequent travel by vehicle throughout the region
  • Need to be patient and detail oriented to be able to conduct the pavement surveys correctly
  • Work as a team member
  • Need to be flexible with weather and work load as it comes in. The intern will be stationed out of Cedar City, but will be traveling during the summer months.
  • Must have integrity and be trustworthy with expensive equipment and be trusted to work with minimal supervision.
